Time for Practice
God does not require perfection. If He really expected us to do and say everything right all the time, then why did Jesus come to earth and die on our behalf?
Perfection is an illusion that destroys lives. No one is perfect except for Christ. We will all mess up, say the wrong thing, do something foolish, and make poor choices. And that is okay with God.
But he who practices truth [who does what is right] comes out into the Light; so that his works may be plainly shown to be what they are--wrought with God [divinely prompted, done with God’s help, in dependence upon Him].
John 3:21 Amplified
Practices truth - our time on earth is a practice field. It is where we learn how great and amazing and wonderful and deeply personal God is. Not because we are perfect but because we get up when we fall and we keep trying.
Jesus has won the game. He is the victor and the more we LEARN to imitate Him the more we see that victory in our own lives. Learning is a process that includes a lot of mistakes but with practice we get better. With practice we will see the faithfulness of God. With practice we will be able to help those who come behind us. With practice we become more like Jesus.
Don't give up when you mess up. Instead, look up and get up. Refuse to let shame and condemnation keep you down. Let the blood of Jesus Christ be your strength to get back on the field. Study your moves and learn your triggers. Identify what you can do and then let God cover what you can't.
