He Speaks

God gives us free choice. He lets us choose how much of Him we have in our lives. When we choose to read our Bibles, we are investing in how much of God we will have actively in our life.

The Sovereign Lord has given me his words of wisdom, so that I know how to comfort the weary. Morning by morning he wakens me and opens my understanding to his will. The Sovereign Lord has spoken to me, and I have listened. I have not rebelled or turned away.
                              Isaiah 50:4-5 NLT

I have been reading these two verses for three days. Every time I look at them my heart seems it slow down and things go still. I sense the peace and beauty of God's presence and an indescribable joy. How great is our God!

God shares His wisdom with us in His word. He talks to us through His word. The Bible is God's word. By reading the Bible and thinking about it, our hearts can hear God speak to us. It is how we grow in godly wisdom.

God speaks to us through His word. The answers to our questions are in His word. We will always find wisdom in God's word. Everything God gives us comes from and through His word so if you don't read your Bible, you will miss out on some of the things God has for you.

The importance of reading, learning, and living by God's word cannot be stressed enough. It is the key to living the abundant life Jesus came for us to have (John 10:10).

Jesus is the Word of God in fleshly form (John 1:14). In order to know Jesus we have to know the Word and vise versa. We cannot know (and understand) the Word without knowing Jesus.

We are seeking God when we spend time reading the Bible. It is a race so there is no rush. It is like a fancy seven course meal that is to be savored slowly one bite at a time. Go through the Bible verse by verse with the goal of understanding what it looks like in your life. Read verses over and over again until you understand them. Ask God to help you live His word.

If the only time you open God's word is at church then you are missing out on a lot of blessings not to mention a real relationship with The Lord God Almighty.

Read your Bible and you will hear God speak.
