Open the Door

And therefore the Lord [earnestly] waits [expecting, looking, and longing] to be gracious to you; and therefore He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on you and show loving-kindness to you. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are all those who [earnestly] wait for Him, who expect and look and long for Him [for His victory, His favor, His love, His peace, His joy, and His matchless, unbroken companionship]!
                              Isaiah 30:18 Amplified

God doesn't force Himself on us. He waits for us to seek Him, to come to Him, and to ask Him to help us. Our Father does not want blind obedience - He wants our hearts on fire, hungrily longing for Him.

When we look up to God asking for His strength, wisdom or mercy we can be sure that He will - in fact, He already has, give us what we ask for. Our lives when lifted up to Him will be full with all our needs met.

We are the only one who can open the door to our life and there are only two options for who is knocking. It's either Jesus or the devil. In Deuteronomy God tells us the choice is ours - good or evil, life or death. He lets us choose our destiny. If we choose to open the door to Jesus, the possibilities for our life are endless but if we open the door to the devil we will have nothing but struggle, lack, and death. Keep in mind that refusing to open the door to Christ is the same as opening the door to the devil.

What we think we need and what God knows we need are usually very different. Sadly, many people get upset with God because they don't get what they want. This kind of attitude says that we know better than God what is best. Pride can deceive us into thinking that we know more about a situation than we really do. From there it can prevent us from receiving anything from God.

God is waiting for you. Is there an area you have refused Him access to? Denied it was a problem? Or have you simply put other things ahead of Him? Whatever the circumstances of your life are, God is waiting for you to look up and open the door to Him. When He enters, He will release all that He is into your life and will cause you to have strength where you thought you were weak, wisdom where you thought you were dumb, peace where you were anxious, and health where you thought you were sick.

Open the door to God and your life will never be the same.
