Let's Eat!
Our Bibles contain the Word of God. His words are the nourishment our spirits need to grow and become strong. Just like our physical bodies require food and drink, our spirits also need to be fed. The Word is a feast for our spirit.
The entrance and unfolding of Your Words give light; their unfolding gives understanding (discernment and comprehension) to the simple.
Psalm 119:130 Amplified
God speaks to us in His word. When we read the Bible, we are giving God's word entrance into our lives. Our willingness combined with our actions allows God to move in our lives. And it is one of the ways we surrender to Him. Long before I knew Jesus, I had a personal encounter with God. He told me that the solutions to all my problems could be found in the Bible. Once I met Jesus, I made spending time in the Word my greatest delight and priority. Through His Word, God leads, guides, prepares, and assists us through every situation of life we face.
We unfold His words when we take the time to think about what we have read and when we say it and pray it. The Word of God is alive. Every time I open my Bible, I learn something more about God, myself, or the world around me and the one to come. I have made the promises of God the foundation of my life by thinking about what the Bible says and actually applying it to my life. When I don't understand something, I ask God to explain it. When I am struggling, I speak of His promise of victory. In preparation for each day, I declare His presence beside me. When faced with sickness (for myself or others) I demand His healing.
As we focus on God's words, we grow in discernment and comprehension. Wisdom is the result of gaining spending time in God's word. God gives us understanding of His word in order toequip us ahead of time for the trials to come. Our knowledge and application of the Word of God strengthens our mind and improves our overall ability to make good decisions and to help others come to know Him as well. When we understand God's words, it is easier to live them.
Feed your spirit daily just as you do your body. Keep the Word of God active in your life so that you can experience the fullness of His love expressed through His mercy and grace.

P.S. I apologize to all of you who regularly read the blog. The last couple of weeks I have not been posting much. I put other things ahead of the blog and I am sorry.
