With My Whole Heart 1
The phrase "with my whole heart" occurs six times in Psalm 119. Over the next couple of weeks, we will be looking at these six verses and how they can influence our life.
Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are they who keep His testimonies, and who seek, inquire for and of Him and crave Him with the whole heart.
Psalm 119:2 Amplified
God desires no less than our whole heart. He wants to be first and foremost in our lives - before our spouses, before our children, before our jobs, before everything. God wants to be first and He wants us to crave Him.
It is impossible to crave something that we do not find joy or value in. We crave things that we believe will make us feel better; things we have connected in our minds to happiness or peace or satisfaction. A craving comes out of our experiences and is something we desire and long for. To crave something with our whole heart produces enthusiasm, excitement, and energy.
In some church circles this is called being "on fire for God." So I ask: Are you on fire for God? Are you fully convinced that God has nothing but good plans for you? Even when bad things happen, are you confident that God will bring good out of it?
Build your confidence in God by listing all the awesome things He has done for you.
Take some time everyday to remember how you met Jesus and how much He has changed your life. Remind yourself how good He is to you. Plan to spend time with God, ask for His help and guidance in everything you do and wait for His reply.
Remembering all the amazing things God has done for you is one way to keep yourself craving Him.
Put your whole heart into your walk with God.
