A Place and A Purpose
The Body of Christ is the global church and just like our human bodies, it is made up of millions of cells that group together for a common function. In every movement we make, there are thousands of cells that have to work together and simultaneously in order to achieve the desired goal. There are many things that your body does that you are not even cognizant of but that does not diminish their value. In fact, I would say that the things your body does naturally are vital to the life of your body.
In the Body of Christ, the same thing happens. As I read 1 Corinthians chapter 12 today, I was reminded once again that each one of us has been placed in the Body of Christ exactly where God wants us to be. Many people live frustrated and discouraged lives because instead of focusing in what God has given them to do, they are too busy worrying about what someone else is doing. Anytime we compare ourselves among ourselves we are wrong.
God did not create us for competition against one another. We have been given the ability to defeat every attack of the devil. We have been given power over darkness. We have been given authority over demons and spirits. We have been given the ability to speak in a heavenly language. We have been given the mind of Christ. We have been given right standing with God through the blood of Jesus Christ. As you can see, there is no room for competition amount us. We are all equal in God's eyes.
And yet, many believers in Jesus have fallen prey to the while of the enemy in this world and have demanded center stage only to find that there will always be someone who can do better, look better, or have more than them. Many people don't even try to have God's promises for themselves because even in the church, we have created a system that puts some people on levels of higher importance than others. This should not be!
1 Corinthians 12:27 Amplified
Each one of us is created in the very image of God and each one of us has a special place in the Body of Christ. No one part is better than another. God is no respecter of persons. There is not one person on this earth today any better than another.
We are all highly valued and greatly treasured children of God.
Stop comparing yourself to others. Stop qualifying or disqualifying yourself based on your comparison with others. Stop putting people on pedestals and make God your focus.
Learn to appreciate your own self value and see yourself as God does: loved, forgiven, pure, clean, priceless, and beautiful.
