Live Your Own Life
God did not create us to live in comparison with each other. Jeremiah chapter 29 promises that God has a special plan for each one of us. His plan for me will not be the same as His plan for you. Our lives may be similar but God tailors every part of His plan to be perfect for each one of us individually.
Now God is no fool and He does not promise us a problem free life. He knows we will experience grief, frustrations, unfair treatment, and troubles of all kinds. He knows that our enemy, the devil, is out to attack and destroy us. So in order to give us the abundant much more life Jesus promises us in John 10:10, God made a special plan just for us. Just for you.
Whoever does not persevere and carry his own cross and come after (follow) Me cannot be My disciple.
Luke 14:27 Amplified
I challenge you to see that that this verse is in fact another promise that God knows you so well that He has created a particular path for you to walk. You don't have to walk it alone - that is you choice. It doesn't have to always be difficult - that is your choice. Your emotions don't need to run out of control when things get tough - that is your choice. You will have the promised victory in your life if you refuse to let go of Jesus but again that is your choice.
Your ability to persevere with joy through the storms of life with honesty and integrity are the result of your confidence in God's faithfulness to His Word. In other words, you live everyday absolutely convinced that no matter what happens, God will ALWAYS keep His Word.
What God promises, He will do.
The plan of God for your life does not include you having the same life as anyone other than Jesus. The minute we start comparing our lives or gifts to one another we have taken our eyes off of the only example God gave us to follow and that is Christ.
Every detail of your life is known by God. His intimate knowledge of you is what guided His planning for your life. You may not understand why certain things happen when they do or the way they do but God does. And if you will trust Him, confidently relying on His perfect understanding of you and refuse to compare yourself to anyone else, you will find yourself living the abundant life that Jesus came for you to have.
Jesus wants to share the life He has given you with you. He wants you to live each day with Him. Include Jesus in everything you do. Talk to Him as if you could see Him sitting beside (He really is always with you). Take advantage of His presence and His wisdom by leaning on Him for strength instead of trying to do it all yourself. Nothing is too big or too small for God.
He loves you greatly and He can and will do great things in your life but you have to stop trying to have what someone else has and simply follow Christ.
Live your own life, not someone else's.
