A Wealthy Life

Many people spend their whole lives chasing after worldly wealth only to find themselves even more  unhappy as at the end as they were in the beginning.  Nothing in this world can fill that longing in our hearts for love and acceptance.  Nothing in this world can bring us peace or contentment.

And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”
                              Luke 12:15 ESV

I used to think that possessions would make me happy.  I would covet and strive for things only to find once I had them that I still wasn't happy.  Everything I thought I had to have to be content left me wanting more of something else.  It was a perpetual race from one thing to the next in the hunt for peace that never satisfied the longings of my heart.

All that stuff I thought I had to have to be happy would fall apart, or stop working.  It didn't take long for the luster of the item to wear off and I was looking to something else to fill the void.   Possessions cannot ever give us lasting happiness because they are perishable.  They have no real meaning and no lasting value.

What does have value is life.  Life is eternal for those of us who believe in Jesus Christ as the risen Son of the Living God.  It usually takes us quite a while to realize all the blessings that have already been set aside and given to us through our faith in Him.

All life comes from God and is so much more than clothes, toys, titles, and positions. Life is a gift from God and it's a priceless gift at that.  There is nothing in this world that can compare to the value of life. Real wealth comes only from knowing God and His Son Jesus Christ.

So it is with the one who continues to lay up and hoard possessions for himself and is not rich [in his relation] to God [this is how he fares].
                              Luke 12:21 Amplified

Are you rich in your relation to God?  Or are you still pursuing what society says will make you happy?

True, lasting and permanent happiness comes only to those who put God first in their lives.

Misery will be your constant companion when you try to use people, positions, possessions, and titles to make you happy.  Instead, choose Jesus.  Come to God willingly.  Seek Him.  The promise is that when you do - ALL your needs are met.

Only aim at and strive for and seek His kingdom, and all these things shall be supplied to you also.
                              Luke 12:31 Amplified

All the desires of our hearts are met when we continually choose to put God first.

A wealthy life is rich in God.  A wealthy life is measured by hearts set free in the love of Christ.  It is measured by the hurdles that His love helps us overcome and the strength and wisdom He gives us to have and enjoy the life He died for us to have.

True wealth is measured by the healing of our broken places and the removal of the chains of depression and deception.

Freedom to live and be ourselves with Jesus Christ as our constant companion is the foundation of true and real wealth.

We can never exhaust the richness of God's blessings.

Savor them daily.

Be blessed.

Live wealthy.
