A Priceless Treasure
Happy Thanksgiving! I woke up this morning thinking of all the people God has put in my life that have inspired me and helped me grow. People are what I am grateful for, specifically, the ones He has put in my path.
The one thing that has stuck with me all day is the fact that God loves people. He loves all people. Our sin kept us apart from Him. His love could not bear the separation, so He sent Jesus to pay our debt to sin in full.
My salvation, the death of Jesus on the Cross for me, is what I am truly most grateful for. But I am not the only one He died for. Jesus died for you. He gave His life so that you also would experience salvation.
First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.
1 Timothy 2:1-6 ESV
God desires all people to be saved. Jesus came and died for all. We all fall short of perfection. We all have weaknesses and faults. We all need Him. We need the blood of Jesus to cover our shortcomings and remove the stains left by our sin.
You are wanted. Jesus died so you could live. It has nothing to do with what you look like or what you have or what you've done. The only thing that matters to God is that you love Him with all of it. Good and bad, weak and strong - God wants you to willingly surrender all of yourself to Him. In exchange for your brokenness, Jesus will give you life. Life filled with peace and joy and acceptance and love in all circumstances.
You cannot earn this priceless gift. All you can do is receive it. With this gift come tremendous authority and great responsibility. God wants you, nothing can change that but He also wants you to reach out to the people around you.
Through prayer and good deeds, we can make a difference in each other's lives. We can discover the great treasure that God has placed in each one of us. It is in relationships with one another that we experience the compassion of Christ for the people of God.
Each person is a unique and wonderful masterpiece to God. The richness of Christ that has been given to us is not measured by stuff or money or anything else of this world. The wealth of God has been placed within each one of us.
People are God's treasure.
People are what God values and prizes.
True weath can only be measured in our heart because true wealth comes only from sharing our life with God and with each other.
