Plan To Stand
We all go through tough times and the Christmas season magnifies our problems and makes them seem overwhelming and too big for us to handle. But God (I love saying that!) has given us the power, strength, and the authority to overcome and conquer every fear and anxiety we have.
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.
Eph. 6:13
The trials of life are the testing of our faith. And the more we go through, the stronger we become. Our stance in battle demonstrates the level of our faith.
This is where we counter every thought that doesn't agree with the Word.
Refuse to let negative, self-defeating thoughts or anxieties push you down or keep you down. Remember you cannot do this alone and you are not alone. The Holy Spirit is with you and it is He Who supplies you with what you need in every situation.
Turn to the Holy Spirit. Call out for Him by name. Remember the verses from John that talked about the Holy Spirit (John 14:14-17). The Holy Spirit is always with you. He lives in you. He gives you the strength you need to stand on the Word. Ask Him to lead and guide you through the struggle and rely on His help and not yourself.
The way you stand through tough times is simple and yet can seem so very hard. Open your Bible and find a verse that pertains to your issue. Search out what God says about it and then write out the ones that really speak to your heart. Now, read them. Read them over and over. Think about them. Focus on them and not what you think or feel.
Plan to stand before times get tough. Make up your mind to stick out the tough times and refuse to quit. Galatians 6:9 promises that we will succeed if we don't quit. So don't quit!
We can stand in the face of adversity by keeping our focus on Jesus and not the circumstances we are in.
God bless you!
