You've Got The Power

You are in a battle for your life!  God knew when the serpent deceived Eve that the rest of mankind would not be able to resist the him either without help.

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
                              Ephesians 6:10 NKJV

Jesus came to pay the cost demanded by our sin but before doing that, He showed us how to not be deceived by the devil.  Jesus refused the devil at every temptation and demonstrated His authority over him and all his demonic followers by casting them out of multitudes of people.

In addition to being our example, Jesus gave us all the authority He has over the devil.

Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
                              Luke 10:19 NKJV

Jesus gave you the power to trample on anything that comes against you.  He gave you power that is stronger than all the power of the enemy.  The devil cannot hold you down any longer.  You are more powerful than the devil.

You have all authority and power through your faith in Jesus Christ to overcome and conquer every assault of every evil spirit.  And you have it right now!

You have the strength of Christ.

You have the mind of Christ.

Stop and spend some time thinking about this.  You have the same power and authority that Jesus reveals to us in the Gospels.  You are stronger than you realize.  You can do all things through Christ Who is your strength (Phil. 4:13).

Now, let's address the issue of why you don't feel like you have this power and why you don't use it.

The root cause - the only reason you don't manifest the power and authority that Jesus has already given you is because you are deceived and don't believe it is true.

Please don't take offense here but spend some time thinking about this.  If you really believed you had power over the devil, would you be living the way you do now?   How different would your life be?

If you believe that Jesus has given all He is to you, do you use it?  If you don't, why don't you?

Believe me when I say I am correcting myself as well in this post.

The greatest deception of the enemy in this area comes from the lies that so many of us believe.  Lies that say our issues are with people and that our poor performance in the past (and even yesterday) prevents us from being able to have or use this power or authority.

These are lies!  2 Corinthians 10:4-5 teach us that our real fight is not against flesh and bone.  Our real battle is a spiritual one.  We are called and anointed to fight against powers and principalities that represent the darkness of the this present age.  We can defeat strongholds and take our thoughts captive.

As for our performance being a criteria to be used by God, let me remind you that Jesus used imperfect men to be His disciples and to go out and minister to the people.  He gave His authority to broken men and sent them out to heal the sick.  God uses us throughout our life journey to help others.  He has already given us every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places (Ephesians 1:3) to equip us on the way.

Jesus has given us all the power and authority we need to win every battle we face in life.
