How to Find Great Ideas

Housecleaning is a chore for most people.  I don't mind cleaning my house for the most part because I love a clean house but there are some jobs that I could do without.  For example, I hate to dust.  I don't like dust on my furniture but I sure don't like to dust everything.  I have gone through periods where I didn't dust and that wasn't good.

The layer of dust on top of everything tended to distort the beauty of the item.   Then I found it took even longer to get all the extra dust off.  So dusting, even though I don't like it, is done on a regular basis.

Your mind is a lot like your house.  You have to pay attention to what you bring in it, what you keep in it, and where you put things.  You have to clean out your thoughts just like you have to clean your house.  What you fill your mind with will be revealed in the choices you make, the words you speak, and they way you act.

Your thoughts impact every area of your life.

We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,
                              2 Corinthians 10:5 ESV

We usually use this verse to remove negative thoughts from our minds but today I want to challenge you to see it from a positive side.   Yes, we need to think about what we are thinking about and we need to remove anything that is contrary to God's Word.  But this is only part of what it means to take your thoughts captive.

Has it ever occurred to you that you can take your creative thoughts and subject them to the Word of God?

Great ideas can be found when we pay attention to our creative thoughts.  And when we filter those creative thoughts through the Word of God (Phil. 4:8) there is no telling what kind or how many great ideas we will find.  God inspired plans and dreams come to life when we pay attention to them and take action on them.   What great ideas have you had?  What have you done with them in the past?  Are they still just ideas?  Only you can take them to God and make them a reality.

Creativity is a gift from God.  Your talents are also gifts from God.  Take what you're good at and mix it with your ideas.   Devote time to thinking about the possibilities.  Look at your thoughts as potential great ideas.  Then submit it all to God and expect to be amazed!  There is no limit on what God can and will do when you take ALL your thoughts to Him.

Great ideas can be found within you when you stop and focus on your thoughts.

Today as you're cleaning your mind, dust off those creative ideas and submit them to God.  Attach your dreams to verses of scripture and pray for them regularly.  Ask God to show you how to bring that idea to life and to bring people into your life that can help you with the birthing process.  And when the storms come, and they will come, don't quit.  Yours dreams cannot grow past your persistence.

Use God's Word to capture your ideas and grow them into reality.
