Your Body Guard

I posted this several weeks ago but felt that God wanted me to repost it today. The day between Jesus' death and resurrection. The day it looked like our hope had been defeated. May God bless you and keep you.

As we prepare to celebrate the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, I want to share with you the result of my quiet time the God today.  I am in awe of how great our God is!

In Exodus 25, the Lord tells Moses how to build the mercy seat and the arch of the covenant.  He told Moses to place two angels (Keruvim) at each end of the seat facing each other.  This reminded me of the two angels who were placed at the head and the feet of the dead body of Christ in the tomb (John 20:12).

I believe those two angels kept His body safe.  They sealed the tomb from the inside so that no evil could move the outer stone and do harm.  They protected Jesus from the top of His head to the soles of His feet.

Now, God does NOT show partiality.  That's the Bible's way of saying that what God does for one person He will do for all.  They may not look identical to each other but the promises of God are for anyone who will believe and receive them.  So, that means, just as our Father had angels watching over the physical body of Christ in the tomb, He will likewise guard and protect you.

From a human standpoint, when we look at the death of Christ on the cross, it looks like the devil won.  In the physical side of Jesus' life, the devil has the victory but remember this - the physical world we live in is only a temporary pasture on our way to eternity.  There is a spiritual realm of life that was before the physical world was created and will exist after it is destroyed.  What we accomplish and gain spiritually WILL be manifested in our physical lives.

It is in our spirits that we discover, lay hold of, and claim the victories Jesus won for us.

When Christ died on the cross the devil thought he won.  No sound came from the mouth of God to taunt or forewarn the devil of his impending doom.  The silence of the Lord fooled him.  The devil thought he had the final victory but he was wrong.

The angels guarded the LORD of Glory for three days in that tomb.  They kept His physical body safe while His spiritual body descended to into hell.

I'm not exactly sure about what happened between Friday and Sunday but I'm willing to bet that Jesus kept His silence there too.  That is, He was silent until early Sunday morning when His voice declaring the eternal supremacy and victory lit up hell with the fullness of God's glory.  The demons were disfigured as they fled the sound and the Light, screaming in agony.

When Jesus finished speaking, He picked up the keys of Hades and of Death (Rev. 1:18) and He ascended back to earth to demonstrate the victory He won for us.

Our enemy has been defeated - totally and completely.  Death has been overcome.  We have been covered, healed, and made holy by the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ.

The Holy Spirit of God has sealed us from the inside to protect the eternal part of our being, our souls and our spirits.  Worrying about the physical aspects of our lives is useless.  It inhibits the power of God from being revealed through us.

We have been called to live above our physical body's and to live with our spiritual nature as our first priority.

My prayer this Easter season is that you will surrender completely to God all the worldly things you are holding on to so that you can make room for more of Him in your life.  You cannot do this alone.  You need Holy Spirit's help.  Ask and He will give it to you.

Receive the angels of God and let the
Holy Spirit be your body guard,
heidirn
