Relentless Love

I have been consumed this weekend with the love God has for me.

        Instead, immense in mercy and with an incredible love, he embraced us.  He took our sin-dead lives and made us alive in Christ.  He did all this on his own, with no help from us!  Then he picked us up and set us down in highest heaven in company with Jesus, our Messiah.
                        Ephesians 2:4-6 Message

Because God LOVES me, I am forgiven, healed, refreshed, saved, adopted, and transformed.  

Nothing about my life can ever be the same. GOD LOVES ME WITH LIMITLESS PASSION.  His desire for me never waivers. It is unchanging in character and quality. 

God's love is relentless!  It pursues us with a tenacity that we just cannot fully comprehend or grasp. He is ALWAYS trying to catch your attention.  He knows that if you spent more time thinking about HOW VAST His love for you is, that you would be SET FREE!  

Focusing on the love God has for you stops you from trying to earn it and when that happens, you open to RECEIVE from Him the amazing blessing of HIS LOVE for you. 

His love is not based on your performance - past OR present. It is NOT based on how you will be TRANSFORMED  by the intensity of His love and desire for you. 

The basis of God's LOVE for YOU is simply this: He CHOSE to.  

When the sperm and the egg of your parents came together, God was there.  And not only was He there, He had YOU in mind.  You specifically.  He created YOU intentionally and carefully. He gave YOU gifts and talents so that YOU could be a UNIQUE reflection of Him. He made YOU with great care and precision because He already LOVED you more than you can measure.

God made you and CHOSE to LOVE you knowing full well all the ways and times you would turn away from Him, deny Him, and refuse Him.  Your sin does NOT change the love God has for you.  Jesus took away your sin.  He exchanged your sin for His right standing with God. Your belief in Jesus erases your sin from God's sight, not yours.  And that, my friend, is the hurdle you are standing at right now.

You can still see, feel, and sense your sin.  You've got a choice to make.  You can keep holding on to your awareness of your sin and live like you have been with guilt and shame  OR you can lay it down at the feet of Jesus and CHOOSE to accept this CRAZY RELENTLESS LOVE God has for YOU.

Your choice.

One more thing.  God didn't promise us an easy life in this world.  Jesus told us we would face adversity and pain BUT He has already defeated it for us.  No matter how badly people mistreat us, Jesus has been there.  He understands our hurt, our shame, and our desire to be loved.  His death on the cross is the example we are called to follow when life has injured us. We are to let those things die by focusing on and receiving this CRAZY and PASSIONATE love that God has for us.  

I challenge you TODAY to RELEASE anything and everything that is stopping you from diving in and receiving the LOVE OF GOD.
