Purposeful Pursuit
Jesus came to earth and died for us so that we could have a personal relationship with God. He removed our sin, tore the veil, and became the Way to God.
Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the light. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
John 14:6 NKJ
Jesus did not say "My Father" but "the Father" meaning that we are all included in the invitation to know God personally. The book of Isaiah takes it even farther than that.
For your Maker is your Husband - the Lord of hosts is His name - and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; the God of the whole earth He is called.
Isa. 54:5 Amplified
We are all called to an intimate relationship with the God of the whole earth. This is no casual acquaintance. This is a deeply satisfying, exclusive covenant relationship that grows and deepens with time.
Our relationship with God is no different than our relationship with our spouses, our children, or our friends. They all require time, effort, and a commitment to make them work. They all require purposeful pursuit.
Our adventure of life with God can only be lived on purpose. It is not based on how we feel today or if things are going the way we want them to. We have to choose each day to keep our relationship with God a priority.
The greatest commandment we have been given is to love God with all our heart, all our soul, and all our mind. In order to give all of our being to loving God, we have to do it on purpose.
We are all called to live purposefully pursuing God.
