Embrace God
So far this week we have looked at what it means to embrace wisdom and understanding. Today I want to put it in a little more personal perspective. Before I get started, though, let's look again at our beginning verse of scripture.
The reverent fear and worship of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom and skill [the preceding and the first essential, the prerequisite and the alphabet]; a good understanding, wisdom, and meaning have all whose who do the [will of the Lord]. Their praise of Him endures forever.
Psalm 111:10 Amplified
The process of turning to Jesus (embracing wisdom) is the first step in an eternal relationship with our heavenly Father. Knowing the thoughts and intents of our hearts and minds (embracing understanding) is part of everyday life in this world as is our gratefulness for everything that God has done for us (embracing praise).
For most of my life, I struggled with insecurity and fear. The first several years of my walk with God were limited because of what I was carrying around inside me. I have learned that the only way I could have more of Jesus in me was to let go of everything I was carrying around that did not come from Him. This included pain, unforgiveness, resentment, self pity, and all my insecurity and fears.
This was no easy task and it is still a work in progress in some areas. But I can honestly tell you that it is worth it. There is nothing that compares to knowing and loving Jesus and being loved by Him in return. So I am letting go.
Acknowledging the counter productive things in our life like unforgiveness and pain is the beginning to overcoming them. Letting go of them allows us to embrace God instead and it is in His arms (word) that we find healing and peace.
Everyday is an opportunity to grow in wisdom and understanding. Each moment, each choice that you make will either help you grow or hold you back.
With wisdom and understanding, our lives have meaning as we do the will of the Lord and our praises of God exist for all eternity.
Embrace God everyday.
