Embrace

A total of three words have influenced this week's theme and they are all linked in this one verse.  The words are:  embrace, wisdom, and praise.

The reverent fear and worship of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom and skill [the preceding and the first essential, the prerequisite and the alphabet]; a good understanding, wisdom, and meaning have all those who do [the will of the Lord].  Their praise of Him endures forever.
                              Psalm 111:10 Amplified

Most of us come to God with a deep reverence for His holiness and purity.  We have no difficulty accepting that He alone is God and there is no other but what does mess with us is the fact that God - the one and only true God, the Creator of everything - would want anything to do with us.

We cannot wrap our minds around the fact that God does indeed want to be embraced by us.

A quick look at Dictionary.com defines "embrace" as:

- to take or clasp in the arms
- to take or receive gladly or eagerly
- to avail oneself of
- to adopt
- to take in with the eye or the mind
- to encircle; surround; enclose
- to include or contain

God wants us to embrace Him.

He desires to be held in our arms.  He wants us to receive from Him with joy and eagerness.  He longs to be a part of our everyday lives.  God wants to be included in everything we do.

To embrace someone or something requires intentional action.  It's done on purpose.  Multiple times in the Bible, we are told to cling to and hold on to the word of God for all His blessings and promises are ours when we embrace Him.

We embrace God when we worship Him and to worship Him is the very beginning of wisdom.

Go ahead and give God a big ol' hug - include Him in everything you do today.
